IPv6 Hosted-Engine deploy fails as static IPv6 Address is lost

Solution Verified - Updated

Environment

  • Red Hat Virtualization 4.3
    • Network Manager

Issue

  • When adding a new host to RHV Manager (WebUI/API), with static IPv6 IP configured, the IP is dropped during host deploy and is set to DHCP.
  • When deploying Hosted-Engine with IPv6, the installation fails as the host loses it's IP address on the ovirtmgmt bridge when the host is added to RHV-M.

Resolution

Set NM_CONTROLLED=no in the relevant ifcfg file before doing the host deploy.

This was reported in This content is not included.BZ 1680970.

Diagnostic Steps

Check ifcfg file after host deploy and detect that all IPv6 settings have been reset, for example IPV6_AUTOCONF=yes.
