An attempt to update group plugin configuration will wipe out connection settings of all members of the group

Solution Unverified - Updated

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Operations Network (JBoss ON) 3.3 Update 11
  • Compatible Resource Group with 1 or more members
  • Modify the resource group's Connection Settings (plug-in configuration)

Issue

  • An attempt to update group plugin configuration will wipe out connection settings of all members of the group
  • Attempt to update EAP credentials for all EAP servers that are members of the compatible group fails and their connection settings gets wiped out;

Resolution

This issue has been resolved in JBoss ON 3.3 Update 12 and later. The existing group configuration is properly applied when the configuration of a compatible resource group is modified.

Root Cause

This is a regression introduced in JBoss ON 3.3 Update 11 from the work done as part of This content is not included.BZ 1418034. That work resulted in the existing configuration being ignored due to a change in how the database entities are loaded.
