SavedSearchManager fails with NameNotFoundException in JBoss ON CLI

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Operations Network (JBoss ON) 3.3 Update 11 and earlier
  • JBoss ON CLI script that invokes a method from SavedSearchManager

Issue

  • SavedSearchManager throws error:

      javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: [Warning] rhq/rhq-server/SavedSearchManagerBean!org.rhq.enterprise.server.search.SavedSearchManagerRemote -- service jboss.naming.context.java.global.rhq.rhq-server."SavedSearchManagerBean!org.rhq.enterprise.server.search.SavedSearchManagerRemote"
    
  • server.log contains the following error:

      ERROR [org.rhq.enterprise.server.remote.RemoteSafeInvocationHandler] (http-192.168.1.1:7080-2) Failed to invoke remote request: javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: rhq/rhq-server/SavedSearchManagerBean!org.rhq.enterprise.server.search.SavedSearchManagerRemote -- service jboss.naming.context.java.global.rhq.rhq-server."SavedSearchManagerBean!org.rhq.enterprise.server.search.SavedSearchManagerRemote"
    

Resolution

This issue has been address in JBoss ON 3.3 Update 12 and later.

Root Cause

The SavedSearchManager interface and object factory was not exposed in the JBoss ON CLI.
