What happens to the scheduled remote execution jobs when Satellite is down?
Environment
Satellite 6.x
Issue
In case you have scheduled remote execution jobs and Satellite is unable to proceed with them for whatever reason, what is going to happen? Will they get cancelled?
Resolution
Satellite will proceed with missed scheduled remote execution jobs at the soonest. They will not be cancelled, but executed with delay.
However, in case there is a recurring job scheduled and there are multiple runs missed due to an outage (e.g. there is a recurring job scheduled for every 30 minutes and Satellite is down for 2 hours, missing 4 runs), when Satellite becomes able to run the job, it will run one missed instance only, and then it will continue with future runs as scheduled.
Currently, there is no option how to disable the delayed run of missed scheduled jobs.
