Resolution

  • Red Hat Satellite 6.5 and above versions provide the ability to discover a container repository from the Red Hat Satellite User Interface (UI).
  • This is a new feature with Red Hat Satellite 6.5 and above versions which is connected to the internet.
  • Container repository can be discovered and created by executing the below steps:
    • On Red Hat Satellite Web UI → ContentProductsRepo Discovery → Set the Repository Type to Container Images
      Provide the Username and Password that you use to login to the Customer Portal and click Discover.
    • From the Discovered Repository → Choose the Namespace/RepositoryCreate Selected → Set the Product to New Product→ Add the Name → Add the LabelRun Repository Creation
  • Once the container repository is created, follow the steps to sync the container repository:
    • On Red Hat Satellite Web UI → Sync Status → Expand the custom container repository → Choose the repository and click Synchronize Now
