Authenticate Satellite users on RADIUS authentication source
Environment
- Red Hat Satellite 6.x
- Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) system
Issue
If the authentication system is a RADIUS one, there is no supported solution to authenticate directly Satellite users on RADIUS server.
The two current ways of doing it are :
- Using Red Hat Identity Manager to act as an authentication bastion to make the link between the Satellite and the Radius server. This generate additional work on update, day-to-day administration and can be a single point of failure.
- Using pam_radius lib to perform directly the authentication. This solution is not supported and not shipped by Red Hat. This rpm can be found in EPEL repository. more informations on EPEL....
The goal is to be able to have a supported solution to authenticate Satellite users directly with RADIUS protocol on te authentication server.
Resolution
This Request For Enhancement "RFE" is being tracked in the Bugzilla ticket This content is not included.#1814697 . For further information, please reach out to your Red Hat support representative.
