[Satellite 6] Content View import fails with 'no library repository found for Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux_7_Server_-_Extras_RPMs_x86_64'

Solution Unverified - Updated

Environment

  • Red Hat Satellite 6.5 (CV source)
  • Red Hat Satellite 6.5 (CV target)

Issue

root@<hostname>:/var/lib/pulp/katello-export# ./import.sh
export-contentview1.tar
[.......................................................................................] [100%]
No new packages.
Could not import the content view:
Error: Unable to sync repositories, no library repository found for Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux_7_Server_-_Extras_RPMs_x86_64

Resolution

  • Verify the name of the repository in both Satellite instances.
  • If you identify the difference as described in the Root Cause of this solution, disable the wrongly named repository:
Content > Repositories > click the 'Disable' button
  • Import the CV again.

Root Cause

  • The name of the repository on CDN has been different for a short period of time (error on CDN side).
  • The differently named repository has been synchronized into the new Satellite 6.5.
Old setup Satellite 6.5:
Name: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Server - Extras RPMs x86_64
Label: Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux_7_Server_-_Extras_RPMs_x86_64

Newly setup Satellite 6.5:
Name: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Server - Extras RPMs x86_64 7Server
Label: Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux_7_Server_-_Extras_RPMs_x86_64_7Server
  • If the same repository is synchronized later again after the name has been fixed, it will create a new repository within the Satellite with the correct name.
