RHEL 8 modular packages cannot be filtered with Content View filters on Red Hat Satellite 6.

Solution Verified - Updated

Environment

  • Red Hat Satellite 6.5
  • Red Hat Satellite 6.6

Issue

  • Content View filters for excluding/including modular packages from RHEL 8 repositories are not working on Red Hat Satellite 6.5 and 6.6.

Resolution

  • Upgrade the Satellite to 6.71.
  • Packages belonging to Module Streams can only be filtered using Module Stream filter on Red Hat Satellite 6.72.

  • Although RHEL 8 repositories are supported from Satellite 6.5, modular packages cannot be filtered with the Package content type on Content View filters on either Satellite 6.5 or 6.6.
