Issue

• Is the H2 database supported for use in a production environment?

Resolution

• Red Hat does not support the use of an H2 database¹ in production.
• For cases opened concerning the H2 database, the customer may be asked to change configuration to use a different database type.
• In EAP 6, the ExampleDS configuration can safely be removed from standalone.xml/domain.xml (no default services depend on the datasource).
• In EAP 7, additional steps are required to This content is not included.remove the ExampleDS configuration.

Root Cause

• The H2 ExampleDS configuration is an example configuration which may provide a convenient test endpoint but is not intended for use in production environments as noted in the JBoss EAP 6 and JBoss EAP 7 documentation.
