Patching tab is no longer displayed at JBoss EAP 7.3.3 and RH-SSO 7.4.3 running in domain mode
Environment
- Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
- 7.3.3 and 7.3.4
- Red Hat Single Sign-On (RH-SSO)
- 7.4.3 and 7.4.4
Issue
- After to applying the 7.3. Update 3, the
Patchingtab option is no longer displayed at domain mode from Management Console. - Patching tab not visible in HAL console from RH-SSO 7.4.3
- Patch-Tab missing in web management console.
- If I open the RH-SSO 7.4.3 management console (on the domain controller), there is no tab for patching the individual server. The system is running in domain-mode.
- Applied the JBoss EAP patch (jboss-eap-7.3.3-patch.zip) in test environment and observed that "Patching" tab is missing post patch installation. Rollback the latest patch and patching tab is visible again.
- "Patching" tab option is no longer displayed after JBoss EAP 7.3.3 Update.
- RH-SSO 7.4.3 Patch Management Screen for a Managed Domain unavailable.
- HAL Management Console not showing Patching Tab in JBoss EAP 7.3.3.
Resolution
The Patching tab is shown when running JBoss EAP in standalone mode only, but not when in domain mode.
This issue is a known bug (see Root-Cause section). It was fixed in This content is not included.JBoss EAP 7.3 Update 5 patch release.
Once the RH-SSO 7.4.5 patch update is available for This content is not included.download from Red Hat Customer Portal, users can go ahead and apply the same to get this issue resolved in RH-SSO environment.
As a workaround, in domain mode, users can still access the Patching tab via direct url http://localhost:9990/console/index.html#patching.
