oracleasm module fails to load in kernel-4.18.0-240.15.1.el8_3

kmod-redhat-oracleasm-8:2.0.8-1.el8_3

Issue

oracleasm fails to load in kernel-4.18.0-240.15.1.el8_3:

[root@host ~]# modprobe oracleasm
modprobe: FATAL: Module oracleasm not found in directory /lib/modules/4.18.0-240.15.1.el8_3.x86_64

Resolution

Please update the kmod-redhat-oracleasm rpm to version 2.0.8-1.3.el8_3 or later which contains the fix for this bug.

Root Cause
