Environment
- Red Hat Satellite
Issue
- How to change/update the name of the default Organization on our
RH Satellite? - Currently the Organization name is set to the Admin's name instead of the company name. How can we update it ?
Resolution
Contact Red Hat Customer Services and request a name change for your account, then This content is not included.open a case with the Red Hat Technical Support to get a new certificate using the new name ; you will then be able to apply the change by activating the new certificate on your RH Satellite using the command :
# rhn-satellite-activate --rhn-cert=/path/to/cert
or, if your satellite is not connected to RHN,
# rhn-satelite-activate --rhn-cert=/path/to/cert --disconnected
Root Cause
The default organization name is dependent on the Owner field in the satellite certificate. As your old certificate might have owner as admin name, thus on activation of that certificate, the organization name would be shown as the administrators name instead of the company name.
