Encryption of Sudo Password for Remote Execution on Satellite 6
Environment
- Red Hat Satellite 6
Issue
- How are sudo credentials stored in Red Hat Satellite 6?
- What does the message, "This setting is encrypted. Empty input field is displayed instead of the setting value." mean?
Resolution
Remote Execution passwords and passphrases are stored encrypted in the database on Satellite server, and are write-only in the web UI.
The message, "This setting is encrypted. Empty input field is displayed instead of the setting value." is displayed when viewing password settings in the RemoteExecution tab under the Administer page.
