Environment

  • Red Hat Satellite 6

Issue

  • Offline backup on Satellite 6 fails with: 

    Hammer configuration failed: Incorrect credential for admin user.

Resolution

  • Make sure you have correct credentials in .hammer/cli.modules.d/foreman.yml .
    The same credentials must be in the file if it exists /etc/foreman-maintain/foreman-maintain-hammer.yml .

  • If issue still persists, run the below command:

    # satellite-maintain advanced procedure run hammer-setup

Root Cause

  • Some issue with file /etc/foreman-maintain/foreman-maintain-hammer.yml which was fixed when hammer was reconfigured using the resolution steps.
