Running Remote Execution Job from Satellite, fails with: "Initialization error: RestClient::NotFound - 404 Not Found"

Red Hat Satellite 6

Issue

  • While try to execute a remote job from Satellite to Client-Host, show up a below error:

    1: Initialization error: RestClient::NotFound - 404 Not Found
2: Initialization error: RestClient::NotFound - 404 Not Found
3: Initialization error: RestClient::NotFound - 404 Not Found
4: Initialization error: RestClient::NotFound - 404 Not FoundError loading data from Capsule: NoMethodError - undefined method `code' for "404 Not Found":String 
5: Did you mean?  encode

Root Cause

The public SSH key from Satellite ,id_rsa_foreman_proxy.pub file got deleted by mistake from /usr/share/foreman-proxy/.ssh/ directory

Diagnostic Steps

  • Checking the file var/log/foreman-proxy/proxy.log 

    2023-08-31T13:54:38  [E] Couldn't enable 'ssh'
2023-08-31T13:54:38  [W] Error details for Couldn't enable 'ssh': <RuntimeError>: Ssh public key file /var/lib/foreman-proxy/ssh/id_rsa_foreman_proxy.pub doesn't exist

  • Ensure these settings below are setting to No

    WebUi --> Administer --> Settings --> Remote Execution --> remote_execution_fallback_proxy --> No
WebUi --> Administer --> Settings --> Remote Execution --> Enable Global Proxy --> No
