Incremental update of a Content View takes too long in Satellite 6

Environment

• Red Hat Satellite 6.10 - 6.13
• Red Hat Satellite 6.16

Issue

• Running an incremental update of a Content View takes hours to complete. While full publish of the Content View takes much less time.

• This happens regardless of dependency solving enabled or disabled for the CV.

Resolution

• The reported issue has been fixed in Red Hat Satellite v6.13.1 via This content is not included.Bug 2190509 and in Red Hat Satellite v6.14 via This content is not included.Bug 2117760. Root Cause

• When running a CV incremental update, katello enables dependency solving for the content resolution and copy. This is hardcoded and does not depend on the CV settings.

• From Red Hat Satellite v6.14, it will be possible to set the dependency solving individually for each incremental update, with default value to false.
