VM provisioning on Red Hat Satellite server fails with an error, Failed to attach ISO image to CDROM.

Environment

• Red Hat Satellite 6.13
• VMware vCenter 8

Issue

• Provisioning the virtual machines in the VMware platform via Red Hat Satellite v6.13 using the Bootdisk Method (BIOS and UEFI) failed to create the host with the below error:

  Failed to attach ISO image to CDROM drive of instance client.example.com: InvalidPowerState: The attempted operation cannot be performed in the current state (Powered on).' error (RbVmomi::Fault)
  

• Provisioning the virtual machines in the VMware platform via Red Hat Satellite v6.13 failed with the below error:

  Failed to detach ISO image from CDROM drive of instance client.example.com: InvalidPowerState.
  

Resolution

• The reported issue has been fixed in the errata RHSA-2024:2010.

• This content is not included.Upgrade the Red Hat Satellite server to version 6.15 to fix the reported issue.
