Plugins are not getting loaded in web console fails with Unexpected end of JSON input for RHOCP4

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RHOCP)
    • 4
  • Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (RHACM)
  • Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation (RHODF)
  • Multi Cluster Engine (MCE)
  • Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization.

Issue

  • RHACM, MCE and monitoring plugins are in Failed state.

  • Observe Tab not visible in RHOCP console Administrator view.

    Failed to get a valid plugin manifest from /api/plugins/monitoring-plugin/ SyntaxError: Unexpected end of JSON input

Resolution

  • The issue has been fixed in RHOCP version 4.14.11 as a part of ERRATA RHSA-2024:0642.

  • If upgrading the cluster immediately is not possible,There are a few workaround to mitigate this problem.

    • Workaround 1

      • Bypassing the cache with a hard refresh (CTRL+SHIFT+R) if Mozilla Firefox is used.
    • Workaround 2

      • Disable cache using Developer Tools in the browser or else use a private window.
