Issue

  • The Red Hat Elasticsearch Operator is not available in OpenShift 4.16

  • Not able to install the Red Hat Elasticsearch Operator in OpenShift 4.16

  • When trying to install the Elasticsearch Operator in OpenShift 4.16 is received the error:

    ClusterServiceVersions blocking cluster upgrade: openshift-operators-redhat/elasticsearch-operator.v5.8.10 is incompatible with OpenShift minor versions greater than 4.16,openshift-logging/cluster-logging.v5.8.10 is incompatible with OpenShift minor versions greater than 4.16
    

Resolution

As currently stands:

The Red Hat Elasticsearch Operator will be supported in OpenShift 4.16 for ServiceMesh, Tracing and Kiali. Elasticsearch is no longer supported for Log Storage and Kibana is no longer supported in OpenShift 4.16 and forward.

This issue was reported to Red Hat engineering. It is being tracked in bug This content is not included.LOG-5911 and delivered a fix in 5.8.11 through errata RHBA-2024:5123 with the following information:
