How to delete a Content View which is added in a Composite Content View in Satellite?
Environment
- Red Hat Satellite 6
- 6.15
Issue
- Can a Content View be deleted which is already added in a published version of Composite Content View without deleting the published version of Composite Content View ?
Resolution
To delete a Content View which is already added in a Composite Content View:
- Delete the published version of Composite Content by following these steps:
Satellite Web UI ---> Content (Under Lifecycle Dropdown) ---> Content Views ---> Click on Composite Content View name ---> Under Versions tab ---> Click on 3 dots (RHS) in front of latest version ---> Delete.
- Then remove the Content View from Composite Content View by following these steps:
Satellite Web UI ---> Content (Under Lifecycle Dropdown) ---> Content Views ---> Click on Composite Content View name ---> In Content views tab ---> Select the check box of the desired Content View to be removed ---> Click on 3 dots beside Add Content Views ---> Click on Remove

Root Cause
- Content View deletion is not possible without first removing it from all of the Composite Content Views that it is a part of.
