When provisioning a host via a Red Hat Satellite server integrated with IdM, the name of the hostgroup used for provisioning is automatically taken as the value for 'userclass' in IdM

Solution Verified - Updated

Environment

  • Red Hat Satellite 6.16

Issue

  • When provisioning a host via a Red Hat Satellite server integrated with IdM, Satellite creates the host in IdM, and passes the name of the hostgroup used for provisioning as the value for the LDAP userclass attribute in IdM.

  • Is it possible to provision a host via a Red Hat Satellite server integrated with IdM, and have the LDAP userclass attribute in IdM populated with a different value than the name of the hostgroup used for provisioning?

  • I have tried to add a host parameter with the name ipa_userclass and with userclass but in both cases the LDAP userclass attribute in IdM ended up being populated with the name of the hostgroup used for provisioning, and not the values specified with the host parameter.
