Why a host was automatically deleted from the Red Hat Hybrid Cloud Console Inventory within 30 days despite custom staleness and deletion configuration ?
Environment
- Red Hat Hybrid Cloud Console
- Red Hat Subscription Manager (RHSM)
Issue
- A host was automatically removed from the
Red Hat Hybrid Cloud Console Inventorywithin 30 days, even though This content is not included.custom staleness and deletion timers were configured in the Console.
- A host is considered decommissioned after 30 days if it does not check in with
Red Hat Subscription Manager (RHSM). When this occurs, RHSM requests that the Red Hat Hybrid Cloud Console delete the host from the Inventory.
Resolution
-
This behavior has been reported to Red Hat Engineering and is being tracked internally. For additional information or to follow progress, please open a This content is not included.new support case with Red Hat Support.
-
As a workaround, ensure the host checks in with
Red Hat Subscription Manager (RHSM)at least once every 30 days to prevent early deletion. For more details, refer the solution The last check-in date of a RHEL system is not up-to-date on the Red Hat Customer Portal.
Root Cause
- The 30-day decommission rule enforced by RHSM overrides the custom staleness and deletion timers configured in the Hybrid Cloud Console. If a host does not check in with RHSM within 30 days, RHSM triggers the deletion regardless of the Console’s custom settings.
