Issue

For several hours on February 3, 2026, Red Hat released 4.18 Red Hat Operators catalog content into 4.12-4.17 clusters. More details on impacts to Red Hat Operators can be found in the Red Hat Operator has version higher than the cluster version solution.

The Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes (ACM) operators uses a different channel strategy than many OpenShift operators, so verify in the Diagnostic Steps below to determine if you have been impacted. The multicluster engine (MCE) operator uses the same channel strategy as ACM and has also been included in the Diagnostic Steps below.

Note: Automatic updates to operators will not happen between channels. To be impacted you must have noticed the catalog updates caused new channels to appear and have switched to a newer channel for the operator that is compatible with the upgrade graph.

Resolution

Use the Diagnostic Steps below to confirm if you are impacted. If you used the script from the Red hat Operator solution, it may incorrectly indicate you are impacted in some cases.

Submariner operator: If you have the Submariner addon enabled in an impacted ACM version, the corresponding Submariner operator will be impacted as well.
