Patchcommand? - I downloaded jboss-eap-7.2.0.zip patch and open the JBoss 7.1.5 Management Console used Apply Patch, navigate to .zip file and the system encountered an error, which prevented the patch from being applied.
Resolution
The patch command is used to apply cumulative patch updates within a minor version. Minor version upgrades are beyond its scope.
It is not possible to upgrade to a newer minor version via the patch command. Patching and Upgrading Guide describes how to move from one minor version to another and preserve the environment and profile configuration from the prior release.
Upgrading is the process of moving to a newer major version (for example, from 6.0 to 7.0) or newer minor version (for example, from 7.1 to 7.2), and cannot be done via patching.
To move forward from 7.x to 7.x+1, it is needed to basically follow the process for a new JBoss EAP installation.
