3scale Life Cycle Phases

IMPORTANT: This policy update for the phases and dates for all 3scale minor versions comes into effect on 10th September 2023. For 3scale minor versions older than 2.11 please refer to the 3scale Life Cycle Dates table for details on the current maintenance phase support dates.

The life cycle for a major release of Red Hat Application Services products is divided into three primary phases: the Full Support Phase, the Maintenance Phase, and the Extended Life Phase. This article provides additional detail on each of the Life Cycle Phases for Red Hat Application Services specific to the Red Hat 3scale API Management Product.

Each 3scale Life Cycle Phase in this article defines which releases the aforementioned policy applies to and that policy should be referred to for details of the Scope of Coverage and Service Level Agreement applied in the following phases.

Phase 1: Full Support

This phase begins at the GA/release of the minor version and ends at the GA of the superseding minor release.

Start Date: General Availability

Refer to the Life Cycle Phases of Red Hat Application Services for the definitive details of the policy applied to the 3scale releases in this phase.

Phase 2: Maintenance Support

Start Date: After Full Support phase for respective GA

This phase commences after the Full Support phase for the respective GA and ends after 12 months or when the latest supported OpenShift Container Platform release goes End of Life. Always refer to the 3scale Supported Configurations for the latest supported OpenShift Container Platform release for the respective 3scale release & the OpenShift Container Platform Life Cycle Dates.

Phase 3: Extended Life Support

For latest 3scale 2.x not in Full or Maintenance Support Phase

Start Date: When the last GA/release of the respective minor version is no longer in Full Support or Maintenance Support phase and no minor release supersedes it.

The maintenance support end date of June 30, 2024 only applies to 3scale 2.12 deployed on OCP 3.11 in Extended Life Phase (ELP). The Maintenance phase for 3scale 2.12 deployed on OCP 4.6 - 4.11 ends on February 10, 2024
