How to switch workspaces for non-admin users in BPM Suite dashboard
Environment
- Red Hat JBoss BPM Suite
- 6.4.1
Issue
- When a 'developer' role user logs in to dashbuilder, "Showcase" workspace is displayed and I cannot change the workspace to "jBPM Dashboard"
Resolution
To change the default workspace
See How to configure default workspace in BPM Suite dashbuilder
To select workspaces after login
You can add "Workspace menu" panel to any page. For example:
- Login to dashbuilder as an admin user
- Go to "jBPM Dashborad"
- Press an icon "Create a new panel in current page" at the center of top menu bar.

- In the "Add panel to the current page..." pop-up, click "Workspace menu custom" in "Navigation" group. Then drag&drop "Create panel" to any place in the current page (e.g. at top left).
- Login to dashbuilder as a developer user (http://localhost:8080/dashbuilder/workspace/jbpm-dashboard or http://localhost:8080/dashbuilder/ if you already configured "Default workspace")
- You will see "Workspace menu" panel which contains links to accessible workspaces. For example, if you remove "showcase" workspace access permission from "developer" role, it wouldn't render "showcase" link.
