Virtual Machines are not mapped by Virt-who when virt-who configurations are created manually.

Solution Verified - Updated

Environment

  • Red Hat Satellite 6.x
  • Virt-who

Issue

  • Virt-who not providing the complete host-to-guest mappings when the virt-who configurations are manually created.

Resolution

  • Move all the manually created virt-who configurations out of virt-who.d.

    # mv /etc/virt-who.d/example.conf /tmp
    
  • Re-create the virt-who configuration using Satellite WebUI.

    Satellite WebUI: Infrastructure ▶ Virt-who Configurations ▶ Create Config

  • Deploy the configuration on the Satellite server using either the hammer command or the shell script provided on the following page.

    Satellite WebUI: Infrastructure ▶ Virt-who Configurations ▶ Select the newly created Virt-who Configuration ▶ Deploy
