Associating Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Virtual Datacenters, Standard or Premium subscriptions with specific hypervisors registered to Red Hat Satellite 6.x

Issue

  • Having multiple Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Virtual Datacenters, Standard and Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Virtual Datacenters, Premium subscriptions, how to give VDC premium license to a hypervisor? How to identity ? Is there any option to define?

Resolution

  • In Red Hat Satellite's web UI, you can specify which VDC subscription a hypervisor can consume (Premium or Standard) by applying the following procedure:

    1. Log in to Satellite's web UI.

    2. Navigate to Hosts -> Content Hosts.

    3. Search for a specific hypervisor, and click on it.

    4. Change the Service Level attribute to one that matches the desired VDC subscription (Premium, Standard, or Self Support).
