Unable to add Future Dated Subscriptions in Red Hat Satellite Manifest.

Solution Verified - Updated

Environment

  • Red Hat Satellite 6.3 and above.

Issue

  • Not able to add Future Dated Subscriptions in Red Hat Satellite Manifest from Red Hat Customer Portal.

Resolution

  • Navigate to below page on Customer Portal and change the Subscriptions Allocation Type to Satellite 6.3 or higher as per your installed Satellite version.
    • On Red Hat Customer Portal >> Subscriptions >> Subscriptions Allocations >> Choose the Satellite Profile >> In the details tab change the Type to Satellite 6.3 or higher

Root Cause

  • From Satellite 6.3 onwards the ability to import a future dated subscription into a subscription manifest was introduced.
  • Hence the Subscriptions Allocations Type below 6.3 will not support adding future dated subscriptions. For more information follow this link.
  • Subscriptions Allocation Type is selected as Subscription Asset Manager.

Diagnostic Steps

  • Navigate to below page on Red Hat Customer Portal and verify the Subscription Allocation version.
    • On Red Hat Customer Portal >> Subscriptions >> Subscriptions Allocations >> Choose the Satellite Profile >> Verify the Subscription Allocation version
  • Check if the Subscriptions Allocation Type is not selected as Subscription Asset Manager.
